How to clean your hardwood floors

Why Should I Clean and Maintain My Hardwood Floors?

Hardwood floors contribute greatly to the atmosphere and aesthetic of your home. But they are also an investment. Protecting them, thankfully, is simple. By routinely cleaning, you remove dust and dirt before it scratches and dulls finish, or wears away the floor. Better still, you can now use products that are safe for your family and the environment, and still have beautiful hardwood floors that will last a lifetime.

How to keep Riva floor beautiful and elegant.
Riva floor needs special cleaning and maintenance.
  • Sweep or vacuum on a regular basis to rid your floor of dust and abrasive elements that can scratch the finish.
  • Quickly clean up spills on floor to protect wood from excess liquid.
  • Use door mats both inside and outside entrances to prevent abrasive elements from building up. Avoid rubber or other dense mat backings that could prevent airflow and retain humidity.
  • Use mats near idnk, dishwasher and work stations to prevent floor from cooking utensils, water, detergents, oil and other kitchen mishaps.
  • Stick felt pads under any furniture or legs to ease movement and prevent scratches. Keep pads clean at all times and regularly check for signs of wear.
  • Opt for large soft polyurethane or rubber casters rather than narrow rigid plastic ones.
  • Protect your floor when moving heavy objects by placing on a reversed mat.
